Charitable Contribution Reports

Encouragement from Janice Fulkerson, Executive Director

Giving USA released its annual report for philanthropy for the year 2014 and it's creating positive discussion and calls from reporters.  The key findings report good news, giving levels have increased nationally in 2014 over prior years. The most common question asked this week is 'How do we use the information in Idaho?'  The Giving USA report is not state specific so we recommend using it as way to thank your donors, to celebrate that giving trends are moving in a positive direction, and continue to outline the needs of your community that continue to exist. Let's keep the momentum going!

Giving USA released the highlights and key findings, making the full report available for purchase. The Center has purchased the full report and has it as a resource for members.

Grant Opportunity

Since 2010, Idaho taxpayers have had the option of donating to the Idaho Food Bank Fund via a check-box on their state tax return. This generosity funds a grant opportunity for 501(c)(3) organizations working to provide hunger relief in the state. The 2015 grant application period (for both online and mail-in applications) opens Wednesday, July 1, and closes Friday, July 31. Between $90,000 and $100,000 in grants will be available.

For more information please visit the Idaho Food Bank website. Grant guidelines for this year are available now on-line, and a downloadable version of the application will be available by the end of June.

Please visit the Grant Opportunities page on our website for information about additional available grants.
